If they give you a vague answer, they're not actually building AI.
4. Monthly retainer required before you see anything working Some agencies charge Rs 15,000-30,000/month for "AI strategy" before building anything. Walk away. Pay for results, not strategy calls.
5. They claim the chatbot will be 100% accurate with zero setup No AI system is 100% accurate out of the box. A good agency will tell you: "We'll hit 85-90% accuracy at launch and refine to 95%+ based on real conversation data over the first 30 days." Anyone promising perfect accuracy is lying.
6. They don't ask about your specific workflows Before building anything, a real agency should ask: What's your current WhatsApp setup? What CRM do you use? What does your booking process look like? What languages do your customers use? If they skip these questions and jump straight to pricing, they're not building a custom system.
Green Flags — Signs of a Legitimate Agency

5. They give you full code ownership You should own the AI system they build for you. No proprietary lock-in, no "we host it on our servers and if you leave, you lose everything." Full code ownership is non-negotiable.
6. They have live case studies with specific metrics Not testimonials that say "they were great!" Real data: "We reduced this clinic's call volume by 80%", "We increased this real estate developer's qualified leads by 3x." Ask for these.
